2012 City Council
 

The Municipal Council is made up of nine (9) members elected by the citizens of Rahway. There are six (6) wards in the City of Rahway and a Councilmember is elected by the citizens from each respective ward. There are three (3) Councilmembers-at-large who represent the entire City and run with the Mayor. All Councilmembers are part-time.

Regular meetings of the Municipal Council are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of the month. If a legal or national holiday falls on that Monday, the meeting is held on the next succeeding day, Tuesday. During the month of June, the meeting is held on the Wednesday after the second Monday. A workshop (Pre-Meeting Conference) is held the Tuesday prior to the Regular Meeting at 7:00 p.m.. When necessary, special meetings may be called by the Mayor or Council President. No meeting of the Council can begin prior to 6:30 p.m. All meetings are held in the Municipal Council / Court Chambers in City Hall. 

All Pre-Meeting Conferences and Regular Meetings are televised live the night of the meeting and rebroadcast on Thursday immediately following the meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Channel 34.

As required by the "Open Public Meetings Act" Chapter 231, P.L. 1975, notice is hereby given of the following schedule of Regular Meetings of the Municipal Council of the City of Rahway for 2012.  Each Regular Meeting will be held at 7:00 P.M. and each Pre-Meeting Conference will be held at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, City Hall Plaza, Rahway, New Jersey on the date indicated.  All meetings will be called to order at the time indicated unless otherwise listed below.
