REQUESTS FOR STREET TREES NOW BEING TAKEN

RAHWAY – The City recently completed the planting of 150 new trees throughout Rahway under Union County’s “Greening Union County” program furthering Mayor Kennedy’s commitment to add to the city’s inventory of shade trees.  The county provided 50 percent of the $30,000 cost of purchasing and planting the trees.  Since the program is expected to continue in 2005, residents should contact the Department of Public Works at (732) 827-2060 if they would like a shade tree planted in front of their property.

Weather permitting, the street trees should be plated in the fall.
