CITY RECEIVES $100K FOR NEW SIDEWALKS

RAHWAY, NJ – Mayor James Kennedy announced today that the city has received a $100,000 Transportation Enhancement Grant from the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund to install new sidewalks along Main Street. Weather permitting, they may be installed by the end of 2003 and will resemble those already installed on E. Cherry Street and the Bridge Street bridge.

“Any time we receive grant funds for public improvements is good news for property taxpayers because it gives us needed public improvements without impacting local property taxes,” said Kennedy. “We will continue to invest in our infrastructure and improve our central business district.”
