2004 STREET RESURFACING DELAYED UNTIL SPRING 2005
RAHWAY – The 12
streets that were scheduled to be resurfaced this fall as
part of the city’s annual resurfacing project will be scaled
back to two in 2004, with the remaining ten streets to be
completed in Spring 2005.
In September, the City
Council awarded a $461,284 contract to S. Brothers, Inc., of
South River to resurface several sections of roadway in the
city. These streets include:
Allen St. between West Lincoln and Wilson Aves.
Campbell St. between Broad and West Cherry St.
Canterbury Lane (entire length)
East Milton Avenue between Beacon St. and the city line
Fulton St., between East Milton and East Hazelwood Aves.
Henry St. between East Milton and Barnett St.
Jaques Avenue between West Maple and West Hazelwood Aves.
Jefferson Avenue between Lake and West Meadow Aves. and
between West Hazelwood Avenue and Race St.
Lambert St. between Westfield Avenue and Harold St.
Main St. between East Stearns St. and East Lake Aves.
Murray St. between Jefferson and Madison Aves.
West Lincoln Avenue between Ludlow and Winfield Sts.
Due to the onset of colder weather, only East Milton Avenue
and Henry Street were completed this season. The contractor
has assured the city that the remaining streets will be
resurfaced in the spring.
