VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR RIVER CLEANUP
RAHWAY- Cub Scout Pack #30
will be returning to the Rahway River to remove garbage
and other debris on Saturday, April 30 between 9 am and
1 pm. This year the Scouts intend to focus on the
section of the North Branch (Bloodgood Branch) of the
Rahway River upstream and downstream of the dam at
Winfield Park. The cleanup is co-sponsored by the Union
County Department of Parks & Recreation.
All participants should wear jeans,
long-sleeved shirts, gloves and boots, and waders are
welcome for folks who like to really get into the water.
Each participant is also asked to bring a standard
5-gallon carry bucket with a handle with their name on
the bottom to make it easier to transfer found trash to
garbage bags.
Last year over 125 persons removed over 135 large bags
of floatable and other debris as well as over 40 tires.
For more information, or if you would like to volunteer,
please contact Joseph Seebode at
jjjjseebode@comcast.net or (732) 381-6853.
