VOLUNTEERS PLANT AT BEZEGA PARK

First Ward Councilman Robert Rachlin recently joined volunteers from Merck & Co., Inc, the Union County Division of Parks and Recreation and the Rahway River Association to plant hundreds of native wetland plants at Bezega Park in Rahway. Using a combination of private donations and state and federal funds, as well as in-kind services from local environmentalists, Merck, the Rahway Board of Education, Rahway Department of Public Works and the County of Union, a new natural wetlands area and public park Bezega Park opened to the public in 2003 as part of the Union County Park System.
