UNITED WATER BEGINS HYDRANT FLUSHING PROGRAM
Maintenance effort will improve water quality

RAHWAY—United Water Rahway will begin to flush hydrants in Rahway beginning on Monday, May 15 through mid-June. Crews will work between 9:00 pm to 5:30 am to minimize customer inconvenience.

Flushing removes harmless minerals that collect in the water mains. The project is part of the company’s routine maintenance program to assure high water quality.

Residents will have water during the operation. However, the flushing may cause temporary discoloration or low water pressure. While the water is safe, customers should wait until it clears before drinking or washing clothes or dishes. This usually takes a few hours.

Customers with questions can call the customer service center at (877) 303-2435.

United Water provides water service to more than 26,500 people in Union County.  For more information visit http://www.unitedwater.com/uwnj/.
