Union County Freeholders to host “Union County Day”

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders will host “Union County Day” in Rahway on Thursday, June 22, featuring a collection of programs that the county provides for its residents and concluding with public meetings of the Freeholder Board at Rahway City Hall.

Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella has reintroduced the practice of “mobile meetings”as his first initiative for 2006 with the aim of inviting greater participation in county government.  The year’s first mobile meeting was held in Berkeley Heights on February 22.

“Since some residents have difficulty attending meetings in Elizabeth, we want to make every effort to increase community connections and increase participation in our programs,” said Mirabella.
