Clerk’s Office to be open late for Voter Registration Oct. 14

RAHWAY – The deadline to register to vote and change your registered name and/or address for the November 4 presidential election is Tuesday, October 14, and the Rahway City Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. to distribute and accept voter registration applications.  Also available to the public are civilian and military absentee ballot applications.

Prospective voters who will turn 18 after Oct. 14 but by the Nov. 4 election are eligible to vote for president and may register before the deadline.

Any New Jersey voter may use an absentee ballot without any additional requirement.

Voters who are overseas or in the military may vote by absentee ballot using mail, fax, or thanks to a new state law that went into effect last month, by e-mail.  More information is available from the Federal Voting Assistance Program website at www.fvap.gov.

For all voters, registration forms and absentee ballot applications are available at the City Clerk’s Office, located at the first floor of Rahway City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza.  For more information call the City Clerk’s Office at (732) 827-2100 or visit http://www.cityofrahway.com/municipal_clerk.htm.
