ELEVEN STREETS TO
BE RESURFACED
RAHWAY, NJ – Mayor James Kennedy
announced today that eleven Rahway streets will be resurfaced
beginning this week as part of the city’s annual resurfacing
project.
At its July 9 Regular Meeting, the City Council
awarded a $434,193 contract to S. Brothers, Inc., of South River
for the city’s 2007 Resurfacing Project. Work is expected to be
completed by the end of October, weather permitting. The
streets that will be resurfaced are:
Allen Street (Waite
Avenue to Scott Avenue)
Bryant Street (Elm Avenue to Central Avenue)
Esterbrook Avenue (West Milton Avenue to Elm Avenue)
Elm Avenue (Jefferson Avenue to and including Baumann Court)
Evans Street (West Lincoln Avenue to West Scott Avenue)
Ferndale Place (East Lake Avenue to Regina Avenue)
Iva Street (New Brunswick Avenue to Thorn Street)
Jaques Avenue (West Inman Avenue to Walters Street)
Sycamore Street (Jefferson Avenue to Madison Avenue)
Union Street (Winfield Street to St. Georges Avenue)
West Lincoln Avenue (Allen Street to 170’ S.E. of intersection
Allen Street and West Lincoln Avenue)
Parking will be restricted on the above streets during
resurfacing, and motorists are asked to use extra caution when
traveling through the area. The majority of the streets will be
milled and all streets will be topped with two inches of new
asphalt. Curb repairs will be made where necessary.
