City receives Regional Business Partnership Award

RAHWAY – Mayor James J. Kennedy, left, is presented the Regional Business Partnership’s Transportation Merit Award from NJ Transit Director of Passenger Facilities Rick Mariani, right.  The Merit Award recognizes individuals who are helping to maintain and improve the region’s infrastructure through planning and economic development.  The Mayor was honored for promoting mixed-use development around NJ Transit’s $16 million train station in downtown Rahway.  The station is only a 15-minute train ride from Newark Airport and Newark Penn Station and 35 minutes from New York Penn Station.

Also receiving awards were Rahway Center Partnership Executive Director Ray Mikell and Merck Senior Director of Site Engineering William Tortoriello.

The Regional Business Partnership is an organization dedicated to building business in the greater Newark area by providing its members with connections, information and advocacy that will enhance their opportunities, strengthen that region’s business infrastructure and revitalize the City of Newark.
