SUMMER RESURFACING PROJECTS NOW UNDERWAY

RAHWAY, NJ –Mayor Kennedy announced this week that the city is now or will be resurfacing nine streets in Rahway this summer as part of its annual resurfacing project.  The streets that are or will be resurfaced include the following:  Brookfield Place, Franklin Street, Lafayette Street, Stacy Place, Wall Street, West Meadow Avenue, West Milton Avenue and Wilson Avenue.  The macadam on each section of road will be removed, regraded and replaced with a fresh coat of asphalt.  Curbs will be installed where necessary.  Work on several of these projects has already begun.  Weather permitting, they should be completed by mid-July.

The total cost for this work is $550,000, with $200,000 being provided by the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund.  Construction work is being done by Tilcon New York Construction of Wharton.
