Senior Handyman Program

Open to Rahway residents ages 62 and over for small home repairs (light carpentry, leaky faucet, smoke alarm installation, etc.)

No yard work, emergency services, house cleaning or roof repair

Labor is provided free; you pay for materials only

Mayor Rick Proctor invites all Rahway seniors ages 62+ to join the Rahway Senior Citizen Birthday Breakfast Club. All Members whose birthday falls on the same month will be treated (with a guest) to a full breakfast and birthday cake at the Senior Citizens Center. To register, please call (732) 827-2016.

DIRECTIONS TO

RAHWAY SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER

Garden State Parkway Southbound:  Exit at Exit 135 (Clark/Westfield) and follow signs for Rahway. Keep straight and stay in right lane. At second light make left onto Central Avenue East. After next light bear right onto Brant Avenue. Go to the first traffic light (Westfield Avenue), turn left and continue for three traffic lights (approximately 1.5 miles) to St. George Avenue (State Highway #27).  Turn right onto St. George Avenue and go approximately four lights to West Milton Avenue (TD Bank on the left). Turn left on West Milton Avenue.  After passing Elks Club (on right) next street on left is Esterbrook Avenue. Turn left onto Esterbrook Avenue. The Senior Center will be the first building on left.

Garden State Parkway Northbound:  Exit at Exit 135(Clark/Westfield) and stay in right lane which turns into Brant Avenue.  Turn left at the first traffic light (Westfield Avenue) and proceed as above.

Route 1 & 9 Southbound:   In Rahway - Go past Merck & Co., Inc. and McDonalds.  Make a right at traffic light on East Milton Avenue between Dunkin Donuts and Burger King.  Go through three lights, then under railroad bridge.  After railroad bridge go one block to Esterbrook Avenue and make a right. Senior Citizen Building is first building on left.

Route 1 & 9 Northbound:   At end of Sansone Auto Mall, make right at light on Randolph Avenue. Go one block and make left at light onto Woodbridge Avenue #514.  Go straight (street changes to Lawrence Street) and at third light make a left on East Milton Avenue.  Go through two lights and then under railroad bridge.  After railroad bridge go one block to Esterbrook Avenue and make a right.  Senior Citizen Building is first building on left.

From Lake or Inman Avenue Eastbound:  Follow either street to St. George Avenue (State Hwy. 27). Turn left onto St. George Avenue. Turn right at the traffic light onto West Milton Avenue (between Subway Sandwich Shop and TD Bank).  After passing Elks Club (on right) next street on left is Esterbrook Avenue. Turn left onto Esterbrook Avenue. The Senior Center will be the first building on the left.

NJ Transit coming from Bay Head/Long Branch: Take East Milton Avenue exit and walk down the stairs. Make left onto East Milton Avenue and walk west approximately one block to Esterbrook Avenue.  Turn left and Senior Center is on the left hand side.

NJ Transit coming from Newark/New York: Take East Milton Avenue exit and walk down the stairs. Make a right and walk straight to East Milton Avenue. Then turn right on East Milton Avenue walk west approximately one block to Esterbrook Avenue.  Turn left and Senior Center is on left hand side.
